Understanding: Posting key is a 2 digit numerical key which controls the line items of the document whether debit or credit.

There are several posting keys available in SAP, each with its own specific meaning and function. Important posting keys are follows

  • General Ledger Accounting
    • Debit General Ledger – 40
    • Credit General Ledger – 50
  • Accounts Receivable
    • Debit Customer Master – 01
    • Credit Customer Master – 15
  • Accounts Payable
    • Debit Vendor Master – 25
    • Credit Vendor Master – 31
  • Asset Accounting
    • Debit Asset Master – 70
    • Credit Asset Master – 75
