How to Define Chart of Depreciation in SAP S4 HANA, using T code: EC08.
Meaning: In SAP Asset Accounting (AA), the Chart of Depreciation serves as the highest-level structure, comprising up to 99 depreciation areas, organized to comply with country-specific legal requirements, including tax, commercial, and group accounting regulations, enabling companies to manage multiple depreciation methods, rates, and conventions for fixed assets, ensuring accurate financial reporting and regulatory compliance.

How to Define Chart of Depreciation
Go to T code: SPRO.
Click on SAP Reference IMG.
Follow the SPRO Path – Financial Accounting -> Asset Accounting -> Organizational structures -> Copy Reference Chart of Depreciation/Depreciation Areas – Click on Execute icon.
Double click on Copy Reference Chart of Depreciation.
Click on Copy icon.
Popup will come.
Now give source chart of depreciation (Can be any standard as per country specific).
Target chart of depreciation (Give the new name) and click on continue button.
System now asking number range copy – click on Yes button.
Customizing request popup will come, select your request and click on continue.
See, Chart of depreciation copied successfully.
Click on bank button.
Specify Description for “Chart of Depreciation”
Same SPRO Path.
Double click on “Specify Description of chart of depreciation”.
Click on position button.
Now give the newly created Chart of depreciation and click on continue button.
Now give the description.
One description maintained and click on save button.
Customizing request popup will come, select your request and click on continue.
