How to Create Cost center in SAP S4 HANA – OKENN.
Cost Center: It is an organizational unit within controlling area and it manages costs associated with a specific functional area, department, or activity for internal reporting purpose (As it only captures the costs). Cost element will help here to integrate the CO with FI module.
SAP Controlling – Cost Center Accounting: Click here.
Go to T code: OKENN (This screen allows you to efficiently organize and structure your cost centers in a hierarchical format).
Popup will come, Give Controlling Area and click on continue button.
Click on change icon.
Place the cursor on the Cost Center Group under which you want to create the cost center, and then click the Create icon to initiate the process.
Now click on cost center.
Once you click the Create icon, the Cost Center Input Screen will be activated, allowing you to maintain the details for the new cost center.
In the Basic Data tab, enter the necessary details for the cost center, including the Cost Center Name, Description, Person Responsible, and Cost Center Category, among other required fields. These fields help define the basic characteristics and ownership of the cost center.
In the Organization tab, provide the relevant details such as the Company Code, Business Area, Currency, and Profit Center. These fields associate the cost center with specific organizational units and financial tracking criteria.
In the Indicators section, select the applicable indicator(s) for the specific cost center. These indicators define certain properties or behavior for the cost center, such as whether it is internal or external, or if it is subject to specific reporting rules.
Lastly, click the Save button to save the newly created cost center and its associated details. This will finalize the creation process and store the information in the system.
Once the cost center is successfully created, it will appear with a green indicator, signifying that the creation process was completed successfully and the cost center is active in the system.
