Assign GL Accounts to Tax Account Key – OB40

How to Assign GL Accounts to Tax Account Key in SAP S4 HANA, using T code: OB40.

Understanding: Account Keys automate GL account posting for tax-related transactions. In other words, When a transaction triggers a tax code, the corresponding GL account captures the amount automatically.

What are Input and Output taxes.

• Output Tax: It is the liability arising from the sale of taxable goods and services, payable to the government.
• Input Tax Credit: It is the tax paid on business purchases, eligible for deduction against output tax liability.

Go to T code: OB40.

Find the Accounts keys by scrolling down page. Once got double click on the line.

Popup will come, give chart of accounts and click on continue button.

Give the check mark for Tax Code and click on save button.

Click on Accounts.

Now give the Tax code and the GL Account.

Customizing request popup will come, select your request and click on continue.
