How to create the Controlling area in SAP, using T code: OKKP.
Meaning: Controlling area is the key concept in Controlling module and it is responsible for managing and tracking of costs and revenues.
The Controlling area contains mainly following.
- CO Area has it’s own Currency(Currency type 20).
- CO Area has it’s own Fiscal year variant.
- Activate cost objects like cost center, internal orders, WBS(Projects).
SPRO Path – Reference IMG -> Controlling -> General Controlling -> Organization -> Maintain Controlling Area – Click on Execute.

Double click on “Maintain Controlling Area”.

Click on New Entries.

Give all the Required details like below.

Note : Assignment control
- Company code = Cost accounting: Means a specific controlling area belongs to a specific company code.
- Cross company code cost accounting: Means a single Controlling area can be assigned to multiple company codes.
Double click on Assignment of Company codes.

Click on New Entries.

Now assign the company code to the controlling area by maintaining like below.

Click on the Save button.

Basic data – Select Controlling area and Double on “Activate components/control indicators. “

Click on New entries.

Now maintain the required details like below or as per your requirement.
Then Click on Save button.

Customizing request popup will come, select your request and click on continue.
