How to Block Asset Master Record in SAP S4 HANA, using T code: AS05.
Meaning: Asset Master Record, that stores comprehensive information about a company’s fixed assets. This record contains essential details such as asset number, description, class, type, acquisition date, value, depreciation method, useful life, location, and responsible person/department. This blog provides a step-by-step guide on blocking an asset master record to prevent transaction posting.
SAP Easy Access Path – Accounting -> Financial Accounting -> Fixed Assets -> Asset -> Lock -> Double click on Asset.
Go to T code: AS04.
Give Asset number, Sub asset number, Company code and click on “Block” button.
Under Acquisition lock – Select the radio button for “Locked to Acquisition”.
Click on save button.
Now the asset master is blocked for transaction postings.
