Asset Deactivation Date in SAP S4 HANA.

In this blog, we explain what the Deactivation Date in the Asset Master is, why it appears, and how you can remove or update it in SAP Asset Accounting.

Understanding: The Deactivation Date in Asset master appears when an asset is

  1. Full Asset Retirement includes:
    • Asset fully sold
    • Asset fully transferred (Intra or Intercompany transfer to other asset)
    • Asset scrapped
  2. Asset Fully Depreciated and No Longer in Use.

Lets check “Deactivation on” date of Asset master in T code: AS03.

Now, let’s remove the deactivation date without using the manual update in T-code AS02.

Go to T code: AB08.

Now lets reverse the one or more retirements happened by selecting the lines and click on Reverse button.

Enter the posting date, posting period, and reason for the reversal, then click the Continue button to proceed.

Now click on save button.

Retirement of asset is now reversed.

If you display the asset master record again in T code: AS03, you will see that the deactivation date has been removed.
